From Uxbridge Ontario, Canada, Joel Saunders has established himself as a standout fingerstyle guitarist and singer/songwriter both locally and amongst the international online fingerstyle community. Joel started guitar at the age 5 and continued to play at school, in the community and went on to study music at the University of Guelph.

Joel’s fingerstyle technique, jazz training and pop sensibilities have manifested into explorative originals and a repertoire of covers that spans nearly a century.

Some of Joel’s accolades include winning two scholarships to study music, placing 4th and 3rd at the Canadian International Fingerstyle Competition in ’16 and ’17 respectively, receiving a grant from the Ontario Arts Council for music composition, being featured by the infamous guitar label Candyrat Records (Don Ross, Andy McKee), being featured in several music blogs and podcasts such as Minor 7th, and releasing two albums of original music and several singles.

Joel performs throughout the greater Toronto area, teaches online, and does audio and video production work from his home studio in Guelph Ontario.
